On this journey they travelled holding all inside
Sharing one lesson, "In God they confide"
Not worrying, not scurrying to this dream that is blurting
Insanities falling on those that are hurting
Taking each moment one at a time
Keeping their peace, knowing all will be fine
You may ask how they fit, how they were brought to the task
How did they find this serenity in this world that won't last
What did they do that was so different from us
Will you sit here and listen or will you sit there and cuss
Will you look deep inside and find what is there
Will you serve humanity or to yourself be fair
Will you walk on moonbeams or will you fly to the sun
This gift is given to everyone
Can you awaken right now with a tear in your eye
Sit quietly by the brook and watch the whole world go by
In that quiet moment on your humbled ass
Appreciate the wind in the trees and God's very green grass
Will you see yourself lower than one single blade
Look deep into the earth from which we were made
Know that you're smaller than one grain of sand
In that small speck of dust know that you're grand
Ask your higher power how this can be
Look a little deeper and you may even see me
Down through the ages, past the shadows of earth
Remembering our very first thought and beyond our rebirth
I'm sitting here lonely, my soul must be fed
I'm off to the river, to a shore I am led
Upon that very place I leave my pain that has bled
My energies renewed in the shadows I've shed
Once more I go forth and I converse with this world
All banners are raised, all flags are unfurled
Looking upon me, what deeds have you done
I've raised up my Father through the blood of His Son
One simple deed that has escaped most
My Goddess approves through Her Holy ghost
Balancing the All through the one that we are
Blessing each moment through a little blue star
This day has come, to the river I've been
My God and My Goddess will surely be seen
Standing above as it is far below
Sending their grace upon this lowly fellow
Can you see now how one seemingly lower than dirt
May be lifted up higher than your imaginary worth
Sitting in this lake of life you perceive
Doing absolutely nothing, and yet I believe
You didn't see me move while I was writing this line
You won't see me in your church and yet I am fine
I am my own temple, in the quiet, words flow through my pen
